A vintage 1890s Coca-Cola advertisement featuring actress Hilda Clark. Back when they put the "Coca" in the Cola; each serving of coke contained 9 milligrams of cocaine and was, at one point, endorsed by the Pope. Not surprising, it was also recommended as one of dozens of remedies to treat "hysteria" in women. Still, given that another frequently recommended treatment was mercury, it could have been worse.
